Five Color Strings

A Bodhi practitioner wrote in his letter: “I used to be in constant fear even when at home. However, since I got my five color strings and dzi bead from Bodhi Meditation center, I am not so fearful anymore".

Five color strings has the ability to eradicate calamities and negative forces; and has calming effect. When worn together with the dzi bead, the effect is enhanced.

Five color strings is also known as the five color silk or five color thread. In the old days, it was common to see the elderly making five color strings for babies to wear as blessings.

The five colors represent the five elements and possess the mysterious power to dispel dark forces and attract the auspicious. According to an ancient record in a book in the Eastern Han dynasty, tying a five color strings to our wrists can eliminate negative forces, eradicate calamities and avoid epidemics.

Bodhi’s five color strings emanates auspicious energy since they are specially blessed. When worn together with the dzi bead, it dispels evil forces, eradicates calamities and blesses the wearer with longevity.

 It is especially suitable for daily wear in the seventh month of the lunar calendar. Five color strings can be worn on the wrists or around the neck.
 
If worn for an extended period of time, five color strings has calming effect and increases the charismatic aura of the wearer. This can bring positive affinities and wearers find it easy to receive help from benefactors.

有同修來信說：「以前在家裡什麼都怕，自從在菩提禪堂請了五彩繩和天珠以後，我就不再恐懼了。」

五彩繩確實有消災避邪、調和心性的作用；與天珠一起佩戴，效果就更佳了。

五彩繩，又俗稱五色絲。小時候，見到老人手工製做五彩繩，給娃兒們帶，保平安。五色代表五行，具有神秘的驅邪迎吉作用。早在中國東漢的《風俗演義》中就已有記載，說把它繫在臂上可辟邪去災、不染病瘟。
